About the site

Lovelyreader.com provides a truly enjoyable social reading experience, with three core features:

1. Fullfil the reader's needs: providing a central place for users to store all their ebook collections, sync to multiple devices, read on it, adding annotations and notes.

2. Sharing thoughts: all bookmarks, annotations and notes created in the books will be collected and displayed on the website, so friends can see, comment and discuss, never before could readers share their wisdom deep with-in the books instead of outside the book, this is the true collaborated reading environment people had been dreaming of.

3. Social reading: getting to know other readers through their collections, annotations and notes created in the book or the reading group they joined, with all the baked in social features (sharing, follow/unfollow friends, user profiles and reading group), seeking birds of a feather couldn't be easier.

About the team

LovelyReader was founded by Jeremy Lu, Jack Yu and Rita Lee in the bay area at early 2010. We are a small team of RIA experts with more than 10 years of experiences working with Java, PHP, Flex and Air, currently the development team spread across San Francisco and Taipei.

At the beginning we aim to provide the best on-screen reading experience across multiple platforms including desktop, mobile phone, tablet and TV, LovelyReader, the reader application, is our first product offerring released Feb. 2010, it works on all major platforms (win, mac, linux) and it's free for everyone.

After the reader app was released we begin to work on the companion social website (lovelyreader.com), it completes the missing piece in a full social reading experience by providing the cloud library, annotation sharing and all social bits, the website began beta testing on Nov. 2010.

In the long run, we will have our focus back on the publishing side and work tightly with content providers (book, news, magazine publishers), building the best digital publishing solutions and assist the industry to bring the contents in a proper way to the digital world.

Lovelyreader currently receives angel funds, and is open to investors.
